Yes indeed you heard it right, Ducati India has revealed the Ducati Desert X model which is completely an off-road machine. With the increasing trend in the off-road, adventure motorcycles in our country, every manufacturer is eyeing on capturing this space with their best offerings. This time the famous Italian brand Ducati looking forward to lock-horns with other brands with its Ducati Desert X.
Technical Specifications-
The Ducati Desert X comes with a twin-cylinder, water-cooled 937cc Desmodromic 11º Testastretta engine capable of producing 110hp@9250rpm and 92Nm@6500rpm torque. The engine is lighter than the previous version by 1.7kgs. The seat height is 875mm which is quite high but it suits adequately the off-road nature of the motorbike. The ground clearance of Ducati Desert X is a whopping 250mm. The tires configuration comes with a spoked 90/90-21″ at the front and 150/70-R18 tubeless tyres. The front suspension setup consists of a 46mm upside-down Kayaba long-stroke suspension and a KYB mono-shock, fully adjustable, remote preload adjustment at the rear. The bike is incorporated with BOSCH electronic fuel-injection system and ride-by-wire system.
The braking duties are performed by the Dual disc of 320mm Brembo monobloc 4-piston caliper at the front and a 265mm disc Brembo floating 2 piston caliper which is again paired with Bosch Cornering ABS technology. The kerb weight of the bike is 223Kgs. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is 21Liters.
Features of Ducati Desert X-
The Ducati Desert X comes with 6-riding modes including Sports, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro and brand new Rally mode. The rider assistance system includes electronics like Traction Control, Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control, Cornering ABS by Bosch, Quickshifter Up and Down and Cruise control to make those long journeys comfortable. The motorbike has FULL LED headlights both at the front and rear. The Desert X is having a 5″ TFT color display which is integrated with the Ducati Multimedia system to easily connect your smartphone through Bluetooth connectivity and activate turn-by-turn navigation in the console.
