This is the first ever long drive of mine on a bike that to p220.in this post of mine I will be explaining you the experience of the journey.
The total journey was of 120km to my village. I started at 8:30 in the morning along with a pillion rider. it was sheer cloudy weather with temperature range varying between 10-15ºC & was quite shivering cold outside then also my bike started with just one action of self. As usual the engine warmed up on its own then we started. After a few I got the breakfast to my machine at the petrol pump. Then here we go.
At the first quarter of the journey was quite hectic due to hell lot of traffic continuously riding in the 1st & 2nd gear and sometimes 3rd . then we reached the highway but don’t take it to be like one in Delhi or Bangalore…it was single lane only with full of heavy vehicles, same is the case for the whole journey. Cruising at a speed of 55-60kmph was no fun but what to do….!!!.
Then came the bridge…second longest bridge of Asia i.e. Gandhi Setu bridge. As the bridge is undergoing repair work many a times 2lanes was merged into single. After crossing the bridge came the second bridge after a few kilometers over the river Gandak…This was the happy hour for me….cruised myself to 80-85kmph..But like any other thing it was also having finite limit.
Then comes the first pit stop after about 50kms. There we had some tea and confectionary.
During the first half of the journey the upper part of the body was quite comfortable…no any back pains, no any stresses, only thing was that my hands were freezing although I was wearing gloves. My legs were slightly uncomfortable because of extra luggage in between me and the pillion rider. I was as if sitting on the tank. The bike engine was quite calm as if its just a start…gliding at 4 gear.
Then we started again this time the road was quite good but was single lane only with people walking sideways with their livelyhood parteners (cows,buffaloes,goats)…I can feel that we are reaching countryside…anyways I maintained my speed in 50-60kmph and about two more happy hours came in between were I can find myself at approx 83kmph..Well not enough for my 220cc engine.it was hungry for more….!!! Then finally we reached our place in about 3and half hours.
The overall experience was quite good and here comes the mileage…its managed to give between 32-35kmpl (only 1 servicing done till now).
After reaching there to my village it was very jolly experience to drive my p220 in the ploughed field….the rear tyre going down in the mud and the sound of increasing torque was the best part of it & was somewhat tough to handle but was enjoying.
And for the whole journey I was onto rear disc only…front was not needed quite often and it was even easier to maneuver the machine while finding any pot holes even at a speed of 45 kmph.
I stayed there for 2 days then we started for our return journey with the same pace…this time also we started in the first half of the day so no need of headlamps but yes the passing light switch was of great use..we reached our place by afternoon with same 3 and half hour lap time.
The overall journey was quite enjoying and tiring but the feel was incredible. I got to discover so many new experiences.With this i am ending my post will appreciate your suggestions.
